In Songhay [soŋaj] languages “ari” means water.

Songhay languages have been widely used as a lingua franca in the West African region ever since the era of the Songhay Empire. Today, they are spoken in Mali, Niger, Benin, Burkina Faso and Nigeria, where access rates to safe water are among the lowest in the world. So the word ‘water’ has a really powerful meaning to them.

We care about many things at Ari

  • the health of the planet
  • the availability of safe drinking water
  • minimising air pollution
  • wellbeing of all humans (and other beings)
  • …and generally making the world a better place to live

We all can, and must, move away from wasteful ways of living, prevalent in the past decades, towards respectful use of resources.

Our mission is to be the pioneers in personal and home care by using intelligent innovation and mindful design in each step of the journey, from our labs to your home.

Ari Philosophy lies on 5 pillars

1 / Ari cares about every step of the journey

From seeking out the best ingredients to the most sustainable packaging and shipping options – each action we take is extensively researched and mindfully chosen.

Behind Ari’s revolutionary organic formula is almost a year of work by our scientific team

Our production process is powered by solar energy and meets the COSMOS certification standard requirements.

Each part of our packaging is fully reusable, biodegradable or recyclable.

Our lightweight and compact packages are shipped carbon-neutrally within the EU.

Our promise is to be fully transparent and share the facts, the challenges and the wins. Let’s learn together.

2 / Aluminium: if it works for NASA, it works for us…

durable, lightweight and endlessly reusable

No wonder that aluminium is the metal of choice by NASA spacecraft engineers. Able to function under extreme stress, pressure and low temperatures, it is also 100% recyclable and retains its properties indefinitely.

As long as we keep aluminium in a closed loop system – and you can do your part by taking it to your local recycling point – we save more than 90% of the energy compared to using virgin aluminium.

Problem: Half of all manufactured plastic becomes trash in less than a year.Solution: Infinitely recyclable and highly durable, nearly 75 percent of all aluminium ever produced is still in use today.

3 / Refillable “Bottle for Good” – elegant, yet Earth-friendly

Production of single-use plastic packaging is one of the most serious environmental concerns, as only 9% of it is recycled and the rest ends up in landfills or contaminating our oceans. Replacing your empty hand wash dispenser with a new one every month has a huge impact on the ever-growing waste issue on our planet.

Ari introduces the “Bottle for Good” that can be refilled forever. We have carefully chosen three elegant colours to satisfy the aesthetic needs of every home. Our refills are shipped worldwide, so you can fill your bottle over and over again wherever you are.

Problem: 13,000 pieces of plastic litter are found in every square kilometre of the ocean.Solution: Our “Bottle for Good” is made of aluminium that can be indefinitely recycled and reused.

5 / Give Back With Gratitude

We donate 1 EUR of every Ari Starter Kit you buy to help families around the world get access to safe water and sanitation

Reducing the use of water is just part of the solution. At Ari, we also want to give back. We partnered with Water.org, an international nonprofit organisation that has positively transformed millions of lives around the world with access to safe water and sanitation.

Founded by Gary White and Matt Damon, Water.org pioneers market-driven financial solutions to the global water crisis — breaking down barriers to give women hope, children health, and families a bright future.

Problem: Women and girls spend 200 million hours every day collecting water. This is time spent not working, caring for family members, or attending school.Solution: With Ari we wish to stop transportation of water and through our partnership with Water.org, enable women and girls not to transport water either.

Through Water.org, Ari is helping to provide safe water and sanitation to families around the world.
